Popped in while out walking. Asked for a hot beef roll and was told they'd sold out. However, the lady serving then proceeded to list all the hot stuff they had left, and made me up a slice of pie with the left over gravy from the hot beef rolls. Bloody lovely

What a lovely little bakery! We stopped passing through for something to eat. I bought a cheese savoury roll, hubby chose a few pies. We also bought a pack of 4 cakes for later. The items were all delicious! The cakes tasted like homemade cakes far superior than supermarket bough…More reviews

The steak pie hubby said was the best he’s ever had! We enjoyed them on the Stanhope moors with the lovely views 😁
Will definitely recommend and return another time even though it’s miles from Durham- Service

Just go in a have a smell. I call it bread heaven but they do all sorts of baked goods. I just had a mince and onion pie and can say that I have never tried a nicer pie. Will be back until the doctors tell me to stop!

We had takeaway lunch, forgot to take pic as was hungry. Lol. I had a foot long brown bap tuna salad filled roll with salad; which was made fresh in front of me and filled well. My hubby had a chicken and mushroom pie which was really tasty, & a Cappuccino. All for £8 Will be coming back again

Best place in The Dale to grab a bite on the go, or a pie to take home for tea. Amazing service. Tasty food.

Friendly cosy tearooms above it's own bakery, they also bake a vegan range of pasties and rolls.
We had the steak pie and black pudding/pork pie. Pastry was so good and the filling was full of flavour and very hearty! Only regret was not getting a couple more for our ride back to Durham.

The mango and caramelised sausage rolls are to die for!! Only available at the weekend. We made a special visit to Stanhope whilst up in North Yorkshire just to buy produce from this bakery. Quiche is recommended too as well as the salad bar. Lovely friendly staff.
I am a true meat-eater but the vegetarian dhal pasty was the best I've ever had! Sooooo good! Can't wait to grab another! Please keep these as a staple!

We didn't manage to get put of the bakery unscathed either 2 jars of local jams 2 packs of biscuits a slice of cornflakes cake which you used to get at school...mmmmm waiting for my lunch to digest before starting on the sweet stuff. A visit is a must.Had a Breakfast sandwich from here and it was really great, got a few cakes as well and everything was spot on. Great bakery to stock up at if you are doing the c2c !

We stayed in Ivy Cottage by the Grey Bull and the locals in the pub recommended the pies here and wow was not disappointed so we purchased a mixed load of pies to bring back to Norwich as the can be frozen too and I have to say they are the best pies I have ever eaten 🥧🥧🥧🥧👍
Stopped to grab some hot sandwiches for the lads, they do the usual breakfast sandwiches which were thoroughly enjoyed by all. They also sell a great range of pies, pastys, cold sandwiches, sweet pastries and cakes
Really nice staff, came back here every day food was delicious best bakery I've been to in a long while, my kids loved those muffins and the creamy veg lattices are to die for!!!I need the recipie xxx
